Forum on Black Affairs seeks nominations for 2019 Humanitarian Service Award

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Forum on Black Affairs is seeking nominations for its 2019 Humanitarian Service Award, to be presented at the 44th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Banquet at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2019, on Penn State’s University Park campus.

This award was created in 1985 to honor an individual who has provided outstanding service to African-American citizens of Pennsylvania, particularly at any Penn State campus. Examples of service include policymakers or leadership of units/offices, programs/organizations, research studies and other significant activities, which positively impact African-Americans within the Commonwealth. 

To nominate a candidate, submit a letter of not more than two pages that describes the nominee's credentials and qualifications for the award and attach two supporting/relevant documents, such as newspaper/magazine articles or letters of support. Nominations must be sent no later than Friday, Dec. 14, to Suzanne Adair, associate vice president for affirmative action, 328 Boucke Building, University Park, PA 16802.
