UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Open Innovation Challenge (OIC) annually allows creative Penn State faculty to win support for their transformative ideas involving education and technology. Teaching and Learning with Technology (TLT) is currently accepting proposals for this year’s OIC.
The OIC takes place at TLT’s Symposium for Teaching and Learning with Technology on Saturday, March 21. Finalists are chosen from the pool of proposals and then will have five minutes to present their idea to an audience of over 500. Following the presentations' conclusion, symposium attendees will vote online for their favorite ideas.
The chosen winner will work with a dedicated team for one year to further explore their OIC idea.
The deadline for OIC submissions is Jan. 25. All Penn State faculty are eligible to submit a proposal.

Katherine Milkman, the Evan C. Thompson Endowed Term Chair for Teaching Excellence at the University of Pennsylvania; a Washington Post contributor; Charles Schwab podcast host; and award-winning researcher will give the keynote address at this year’s symposium.
